General guidelines for Abstract (common to all categories)
- Members and non-members of MRA can submit the abstract
- By submitting the abstract the author (s) acknowledge willingness to present the same at MRACON 2024
- In the case of abstracts having more than one author, the presenting author should be clearly mentioned in the submission format.
- Abstracts must be submitted online only.
- Abstracts containing research involving human or animal subjects must adhere to the ethical principles outlined in the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki.
- Abstracts should not contain brand names of the drugs
- Do not submit abstracts if:
- ● They have been published or accepted for publication in a journal before the July 23, 2024 deadline. Publishing after this deadline is acceptable.
- ● They were presented at a scientific meeting over 12 months before MRACON 2024.

Preparing the abstract
- Please read the following information carefully before preparing your abstract
Category: Cases (podium presentation)

- Cases with good supporting material (namely – Clinical pictures in case of dermatology session, histopathology reports and preferably pictures, PFT and CT images in respiratory etc.) are encouraged.
- Cases with confirmed diagnosis as well as those with limited differentials are preferred. Ambiguous cases are not desirable.
Category: Cases (poster)
- There are no specific subcategories under this category.
- Any interesting case in the area of AIRDs, vasculitides, pediatric rheumatology, auto inflammatory syndromes, inborn errors of immunity or close mimics of the same can be submitted.
Category: Research article (Poster only)
- Avoid splitting data from one study into multiple abstracts unless condensing it into a single abstract isn't feasible. If multiple abstracts relate to the same study, indicate this in the submission.
- For a research abstract structured format is required as follows
- Headings:
- Background
- Objectives
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusion
- References
- Tables
Sending the abstract
- Once prepared, the abstract needs to be converted to PDF format.
- Steps:
- 1. In word document go to ‘File’ option at top row, left hand side >
- 2. Choose ‘Export’ >
- 3. Choose ‘create PDF/XPS document’ >
- 4. After selecting appropriate name for the file and the location for saving click on ‘Publish’
- Images & Tables should be uploaded seperatly. Do not compress the images.
Selection of the abstract
Please note: The scientific committee will evaluate abstracts based on their scientific merit and relevance. Accepted abstracts will be assigned for either poster or oral presentations. The MRACON Scientific Committee makes the final decision on the acceptance of abstracts. MRACON will not provide correspondence regarding the reasons for rejection of abstracts.
Poster abstract selection
- Once selected, the cases and research work will be intimated to the presenter for detailed write up. Guidelines for posters and podium presentations will be informed by 16-07-2024
- If the presenting author is unable to present the case (podium presentation), the same has to be intimated to the scientific committee by 30-07-2024
- Withdrawal of submitted abstract shall not be permitted.
